Bariatric Surgery & Kidney Transplant Surgery

Hi Everyone,

My name is Patsy Nunez, I am Nick's mother. It's simple, Nick is a wonderful person with a wonderful heart. He has always been a generous person to his friends, family, and those in need.

Last year in August of 2022 he suffered of complete renal failure and had to start lifesaving dialysis. Because of this he has been out of work from his job of 15 years since December 2022, has been on long term disability at 60% of his wages, and has tried to return to work but has been unsuccessful.

As you can imagine his bills have piled up now to the point it has caused catastrophic damage to him financially, his housing belongs to the company he worked for and if he can't return to work, unfortunately will be forced to move out and will have to relocate to New Mexico to avoid being homeless and start all over with new doctors and a new dialysis center.

He needs two lifesaving surgeries', bariatric and a kidney transplant surgery. United Health Care does not cover bariatric surgery anymore so he is going to be responsible for a high copay as well as transplant surgery will be expensive for him (food, gas, hotel, etc for both parties) and his donor. Nick has a few people that want donate but we cannot check if they are a match until he has bariatric surgery, that's why these surgeries are so important.

Nick's dad and I are on a fixed income and help with as much as we can but it's not enough. We are asking for help for Nick so that he can live a full life, return to work, and get back to the normal. We are grateful for anything and although we don't know Nick's future, we will do whatever to help him.

His cousin, Maria Mora is one of the few people that have offered to donate a kidney and she will be a part of his journey, God willing. If anything, we will take all the prayers we can!
