Barklee needs collapsed trachea surgery

My name is Shawn Toney and I live in WV. This is my four year old Teacup Chihuahua, Barklee. He was recently diagnosed, by his veterinarian, of having a collapsed trachea and a possible collapsing larynx. He needs some testing, such as a Dynamic Fluroscopy for the trachea collapse and testing to definitely diagnose a partial larynx collapse. He will need two different surgeries, one for the collapsed trachea and one for the larynx. If Barklee does not have surgery, he will start passing out from a lack of oxygen as the trachea continues to collapse and it will eventually become fatal. The surgery will be done at Virginia Tech. They charge $152 for the initial consultation and the surgery could cost as much as around $15,000.
I became disabled January 2021 and lost my husband in October 2021. The cost of Barklee's surgeries is close to my yearly income from disability so I am unable to pay for them..
Barklee came into my life after we lost our 17 year old Chihuahua. The second that I saw his picture, I felt a connection and knew that I had to have him. He has been here for me every second of the day and night after my husband died. When everyone went back home, Barklee was there to comfort me. He makes me laugh multiple times a day and showers me with unconditional love and kisses multiple times a day. He will wake up at night, just to lay on my shoulder and give me several kisses on my chin and cheek, then he goes back to sleep under his favorite red blanket. He has been in three pet calendars and two search and find pet books. He was chosen as the cover model for the last search and find book a couple of months ago and I was recently notified that he was chosen as the cover model for the 2024-2025 calendar. He is the friendliest Chihuahua that you could ever meet. When I ask if he wants to go see his veterinarian Dr. Matt, his ears go up and his tail starts wagging. The veterinarian technicians all love him and will try to be the one to get to work with him that day. They make sure to take him to see the whole office staff before he leaves because he is such a sweetheart.
If you can donate to help pay for his surgery, I would be so deeply grateful. At four years old, he is too young to euthanize, especially since he is healthy in every other way. Not only will you be helping to save his life, you will be helping to save mine as I don't think that I could live without him.
