Hello Friends... After a fall in my barn a few years ago my left knee has become unbearably painful and has forced a surgery to remove fragments. When seeing the doctors at the VA Hospital in Boston it was discovered that there is an 1 1/2" bone chip that hits the nerve when walking. With the evaluation of both knees it was also discovered that the right knee cap is cracked and the knee is in need of replacement as well. Because of the history of blood clots the doctors don't want to schedule both knees at the same time. I go into Boston for pre-op this Tuesday, June 12th. On Wed. 13th. I am going to a special lab to have all my blood filtered before surgery. On the 14th I will be admitted to the hospital for Total Right Knee Replacement which is scheduled on Friday, June 15th. The surgeons plan on keeping me in the hospital for 1-week and then transferring me to a Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Hospital for an additional 3-weeks. After aproximately four months time, I will be readmitted to the hospital to have Total Left Knee Replacement.
As a result of these injuries I will not be able to work for about 8 to 10 months which means I have no means to pay my utilities, food, loans and others expenses. I'm in the process of trying to sell my house, however this takes a time and I need money ASAP.
In my past 71 years of time, I have helped everyone in need of help, and never asked for money. I have helped after Hurricanes, Floods, Earthquakes, Storms and Blizzards. I have always been there with my own equipment to help in recovery. Through my years of fund philanthropic events and promotional marketing of I have also raised thousands of dollars for victims of disasters. I have gathered, donated supplies, clothing and food while loading it into shipping containers and sending them to disaster areas. I have provided places for people to stay while they get there lives back together and never asked for remuneration.
I am reaching out to the yachting community of my piers , friends, previous employers and family to ask for support in my medical journey at this time. Any support of any kind will be a blessing in my moment of need. Once I get my life back on track I am committed to returning to helping others in need.
