Barn Cat Freedom Project 2019-2020
Donation protected
Dear friends and supporters - a few times a year I throw up this campaign to help me save cats at risk of euthanasia at various animal controls throughout northern IL, cats who are unsocialized that I intercept before they end up relinquished to a municipal pound, or feral cats living at risk on the streets with nowhere to go.
Barn cats are not traditionally something the people receiving the cats are willing to donate $$ for - very few donate to me when I arrive at all, and when they do, it's almost always just enough to cover the tank of gas I used to get them there - or less.
This summer and fall I have been all over Kankakee County, NW Indiana, and back and forth to CACC. I'm getting to know Kankakee County pretty well I've been down there so many times! I do all this on my own dime and time, and it's hard. I always have to board these kitties at some point in their journey, and food, litter, gas and other supplies like crates and carriers, and insulated shelters that I bring these cats down with all add up.
Any support you can give me DIRECTLY saves feral and undersocialized cats on the euthansia list at CACC with nowhere to go.
I've brought them to greenhouses, warehouses, woodshops, pole barns, horse stables, coach houses, you name it. It's rewarding to give them all places to connive and thrive!
Thank You!
Erica
