Barn Collapse: Help Ashlyn & Abraham
Donation protected
We are Ashlyn and Abraham of Rebop Farm and we sell milk, meat, produce and honey direct to our neighbors in Brattleboro, Vermont. On Sunday, February 16th our four year old 40x100' hoop barn collapsed under a snow and ice load, killing one cow and eliminating the main animal housing on the farm.
We are going to have to dry off our cows, losing income from the dairy while we will still have to incur the costs of feeding, housing and bedding them until spring. We are also going to have to demolish the old barn structure, and build a new barn; insurance is unlikely to cover the cost of the old barn because it was a modern hoop structure, so we will be paying for barn construction twice in under five years.
This fundraiser is set to help replace the lost income from the dairy over the next three months and demolition costs. We hope it can also begin to cover the costs of planning a new wooden barn structure to be built this spring.
