Barn Fire Rebuild for Charles Thornton
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Stephanie Sullivan. In the early evening March 04, 2023, one of our very own unexpectedly lost his entire horse barn in a fire. Mr. Thornton, as he prefers to be called, has been a lifelong member of our community. Years ago he taught riding lessons in his barn, was a professor at MSU and is very well-known throughout our community and the horse community. Due to age, he now has only 5 horses, but he single handly takes care of them every single day. Mr. Thornton has lost everything that he had to care for his horses including all of his hay, tack, feed, tractor, hay trailers, farm truck, skid steer etc. Unfortunately, Mr. Thornton did not have insurance on his barn which is why we are calling on you for help. We would like to raise as much money as possible to help Mr. Thornton rebuild his barn and, purchase a new tractor so he and my husband can bail his hay in the early summer. This will allow him to continue to care for the animals he loves - that we all love. Our little community has been so wonderful to him already and we just want to thank every one of you for your grace and generosity.
Let's all come together, whether monetarily, physically or in spirit to help this warm, kind and gentle soul recover what he has worked his entire life to build. From the Sullivans and Mr. Thornton, we THANK YOU!
