Barnette's Chicken Sanctuary - Adopting Chickens in Need
Donation protected
My name is Sadie, and I'm 13 years old.
Many people think of chickens as egg or meat dispensers, but I see them as creatures with feelings and unique personalities, who deserve a good home and lots of love. I've adopted 14 hens total in the past year, one with special needs. I plan to rescue even more and give them good lives here at Barnette's Chicken Sanctuary (previously Sadie's Chicken Sanctuary). All funds will be used to help these quirky animals, whether to buy food and treats, warm bedding and safe shelters, or medicine for hens with illnesses and special needs. Please consider donating to my cause. I would be grateful for any contributions - the more donations I get, the more chickens I can save!
Also, the story behind the sanctuary's name:
Barnette's Chicken Sanctuary is named after a wonderful hen named Barnette, who I lost several years ago to a neurological disease. She was a house chicken for nearly three months, sleeping in a crate and being hand-fed smoothie with a dripper. Sadly, Barnette had to be put down, but she helped me realize how much I love chickens and what I want to do for them.
Thank you for reading!
