Barrasgate Flood Appeal

Hi my name is Jordan,

I am a resident in Barrasgate which is situated in the village of Kirkton (Dumfries) unfortunately on Saturday 30th December, half of the street were affected in the regional flooding’s. The levels of the water have been higher than ever before to the point it has destroyed 9 houses in the street.

This is the 2nd time that this has happened however this one has been highly destructive due to the rate of which the floods have hit the street.

The flood came along too quickly that nobody had the time to react and grab any personal items or make any other belongings safe.

Not everyone in this street is covered by house insurance unfortunately. And there is also a few elderly people who have mobility issues and struggle.

Any help towards raising the funds would be much appreciated by everyone in the street to get their homes in order again.
