Barry Runs London Marathon for Prostate Cancer

Hey everyone, I will be running the London Marathon this year after luckily getting a place in the ballot.

With over 550,000 entries I was able to get one of the 20,000 available places...... those are some interesting odds.

Thankfully the odds of surviving Prostate cancer are better than the odds of getting into London Marathon :

Survival for all stages of prostate cancer

Generally for men with prostate cancer in England:

more than 95 out of 100 (more than 95%) will survive their cancer for 1 year or more

more than 85 out of 100 (more than 85%) will survive their cancer for 5 years or more

almost 80 out of 100 (almost 80%) will survive their cancer for 10 years or more

I know this as two of my family members have managed to beat it in the last 6 months, one of those being my Dad.

So obviously we as a family are indebted to the people at the hospitals that have helped them, So to keep this amazing work going I have decided to create this fundraiser to see if we can continue to improve the odds on survival.

I know this is a tough time financially for everyone, but the saying every little helps, really will help.

So if you can donate something please do, however even if you are unable to do so, selfishly, I will happily take on all the moral support and cheering I can from now until the big day on April 21st!
