Barton Middle School Robotics Program
Donation protected
If you know Mr. Glynn, you know he works tirelessly for the students at Barton Middle. He teaches, coaches, and runs several clubs as well. One of those clubs is a robotics club that has given our son, and many other students, opportunities to combine teamwork, coding, and engineering to prepare to compete against other robotics teams (and, let’s be real, to compete in a tech savvy world). It’s an impressive program with one problem: funding.
You may or may not be surprised to hear that coding and engineering is not high on the extra-curricular funding priority list in our school district. In fact, the program receives NO money from the school district in order to operate. Mr. Glynn has funded much of it with support from his family.
Each robotic kit costs $2,000 and the practice arena, which would enable the team to prepare for competitions (and possibly make it to world competition) costs more than that.
We are making this account to invite parents, families, and friends of those students who benefit from the opportunities this club provides to contribute towards making the club fully functional.
Mr. Glynn, myself, and any other parent of a student involved would love to
answer any questions you may have.
I can’t speak highly enough of the dedication and time Mr. Glynn gives to the school and his students and we would love to give back with support for this program. Please consider supporting and share with friends and family who may wish to contribute. Thank you for your consideration!!
