Barum’s junior boxers pull Canadian Volvo Lorry

Donation protected

At last we are beginning to come out of times, where we have all experienced challenges that will affect many people’s health, social lives and livelihoods for a long time to come.

As one of the 950+ amateur boxing clubs in England who are run entirely by voluntary coaches, we give up an average of 4.5 nights every single week to run Barum Boxing Club. We do this for the benefit of our local communities, and our gym is a sanctuary for many people in England.

Our volunteers at Barum Boxing Club manage to train our members by covering essential overheads primarily through a combination of subscription fees, and fundraising by hosting boxing shows for the public.

At this stage, there is a great level of uncertainty around the impact that coronavirus has had on Barum Boxing Club, as we are still needing to cover our overheads after coming out of a year with  little to no income to do so.

That is why we are embarking on this next fundraiser where our junior boxing squad will endeavour to pull a Canadian Volvo lorry 200 metres on Saturday 3rd July. We are  appealing to members of our local community to donate whatever they can to there local boxing club, to help ensure that when we as a nation have KO’d Covid-19, we still have our amateur boxing club in Barnstaple that people can continue to return to.

Any donation great or small is massively appreciated and will help your local boxing club.

We thank you from all of us at Barum boxing club.
