Barwon Heads & District Pony Club - Project Revitalise

Hi my name is Johanna and I am the President of the Barwon Heads & District Pony Club (Inc). Barwon Heads & District Pony Club (BH&DPC) has been operating for over 60 years and it has a proud history of being a thriving community hub for members and their horses.

Unfortunately member numbers have dwindled at the club over the past 10 years but they are growing again and we currently have an awesome 12 riding members from across the Bellarine, and 4 supporter members. The photo above is from our October rally.

Whilst the Club is small, we are also mighty - in 2024, for the first time in the club’s history, BH&DPC won the prestigious Barwon Equine Showjumping Tournament Team trophy as the best performing club across all grades*. A fabulous achievement for such a tiny club!

The club prides itself on being a welcoming, inclusive, safe and encouraging place for young riders to learn and have fun with their horses. We rely solely on volunteers to run the club and it is clear that the club is in need of some financial support to maintain the program that we run and also to assist the club to upgrade some very old infrastructure and purchase new equipment. Like a new dressage arena..... :)

With our wonderful long history and hundreds of members over the decades, we daydreamed that if every past rider was able to donate just $10, in a nod to all the joy, friendships and memories of those years of Pony Club, then Barwon Heads & District Pony Club could get started on Project Revitalise :)
