The Trek Is Back On

Im thrilled to share that my surgery is now behind me and the recovery is going smoother than expected. Your continued support and well wishes have been extremely encouraging throughout this journey.

The training is going great and both Ben and I are eagerly awaiting the flight to Kathmandu on March 11th.

Whether you contributed financially, shared our campaign, or sent heartfelt messages, please know that every gesture mattered!

Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who’s shared this link and donated to support Marymount Hospice.

Unfortunately, last week I have ruptured a disc in my back which required surgery this morning.

It’s 100% still happening but due to numerous work and family commitments, it will be rebooked for March 2024.

I’m devastated that I can’t make the trip as planned but am absolutely committed to completing the walk next year and am very appreciative of everyone’s support and help.

I have set up this GoFundMe page in memory of our late dad Bertie who passed away on 2nd March this year,after his 10 year battle with cancer.

100% of funds raised will be donated to Marymount Hospital and Hospice,Cork.

Marymount provide specialist palliative care of the highest quality for those with a life limiting illness.It was this specialist care that helped not just our father but our whole extended family through such a difficult time.

With Marymount needing to raise €3million per year to support their services,we are hoping to contribute to that,enabling them to continue the amazing work they do.

To help raise funds my good friend Ben Timpson and I are going to trek to Everest Base Camp,starting on October 8th.

It will involve 12 days of trekking up to 8 hours per day reaching an altitude of 5364 meters.

Any donation,no matter how small is greatly appreciated but equally important is you sharing this with anyone you feel may be in a position to help this great cause.
