(ADF) is an international non-profit organization, founded by George Ntim in 2000 to garner goodwill and strengthen relationships between the US and Africa through youth-oriented initiatives that include health, education, and sports.
Among our sports-related initiatives we have provided resources for over 1,500 boys and girls to play baseball and T-ball in Ghana. To date, we have contributed over $250,000 in equipment and resources for children to play baseball in Ghana and to travel to the United States and Europe for training. In continuing the ADF work, our current project is to raise $500,000 to help complete the construction of a 2-Field Baseball Complex on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The Complex will include the following:
A Major League-size Field
A Little League-size Field
Dugouts (both fields)
Practice Areas
Locker rooms
Restrooms
Seating Stands for Fans
Parking Area
At present there are no constructed baseball fields in West Africa, so children play on converted football fields or improvised fields with shards and debris that are unsafe. Once completed, the Complex will have the first and only professionally-constructed baseball fields in West Africa. The Complex therefore will provide the youth of Ghana and West Africa with new hope and expanded opportunities that they would not otherwise experience.
