Basecamp Frederick Community Fund

Basecamp Frederick is the sister organization of Dirty Kitten Productions owned by Alex & Chris Howell (Frederick, MD).

In August 2021, we (Alex & Chris) purchased a house and some property along Hamburg Rd on the outskirts of the Frederick Watershed and dubbed it “Basecamp Frederick”.

 

One of our goals/missions for Basecamp Frederick is to create a place where both community members and visitors can come to meet, gather, plan adventures, share stories, and relax on their way to/from the area’s beautiful parks and open spaces.

 

We love adventure and exploring the world around us. Frederick County, Gambrill State Park, and the Frederick Watershed are abound with opportunities for cycling, hiking, and a vast array of other outdoor activities. We want to share this opportunity with others in a responsible and meaningful way.

 

Although Basecamp Frederick is in its infancy, we have big plans for our little business. For our first project, we are looking to build a little “community” kiosk and bike station where folks can stop on their way up/down the mountain to learn about the area, gather info, get some refreshments, and perform basic bike repairs (if needed).
