Bash Needs a Camera!!!
Sebastian Jelen (instagram: @bashjelen) is an amazing human. Professionally, he works for Telluride Telluride Terrain Park, producing freestyle ski and snowboard photos for social media, and he works for many other clients providing tons of beautiful photographs for everyone to appreciate. On our opening day (Thanksgiving Day) his got flipped upside down-all of his photography gear was stolen right at the end of the day.
After having all of his gear stolen, he worked tirelessly with security and police, going over cctv, analyzing ski pass scans etc, and miraculously he was able to catch the 17-year-old kids who took his backpack. Ecstatic, he went through to check everything was there, only to find that his Sony a7riii and 24-70 f2.8 g master were completely damaged. Now the whole situation is in the hands of the court and we’ll see what happens down the line. But as of now he is out of work as a photographer, without a camera.
This whole situation has been a learning lesson for him for sure, about being careful, and about insuring my gear from here on out. He just finished a year of travel around Australia, Bali and Europe being so careful and not having anything go wrong, only to return home and lose everything. We are so usedto having Telluride be an awesome and amazing place where we can trust everyone, but this incident has shown us that we always have to be careful with our fear.
Bash has been an avid photographer for years, and his photos are almost as incredible as his genuine and positive personality. As 28 year old, however, its hard to take a $5000 hit financially, and continue to make ends meet in Telluride. Please help an amazing human get back to work in an incredible community!
