Por qué necesitamos tu ayuda - Intercambio con Madrid

Desde el 16 al 27 junio de 2022, las jugadoras del equipo Palestine Youth Club visitarán Madrid y realizarán distintas actividades con diversos colectivos de la ciudad.

Creemos en el deporte popular, en el trabajo en equipo desde abajo, sin fronteras. Por esto pedimos tu ayuda, para hacer posible que este proyecto de un paso más hacia adelante y este grupo de mujeres puedan visitar Madrid.

Con esta campaña nos gustaría poder cubrir algunos de los gastos que vamos a tener durante este intercambio.

Qué es Basket Beats Borders

Basket Beats Borders es un proyecto que nace en el campo de refugiados/as de Chatila en Beirut (Líbano) hace 5 años. Un grupo de jóvenes mujeres que viven dentro de este campo gestionan y desarrollan todo tipo de labores.

Este proyecto engloba diversas actividades. En sus pilares encontramos el equipo de baloncesto femenino Palestine Youth Club, el Centro de Actividades Juveniles de Chatila y los intercambios.

Chatila

El campo de refugiados de Chatila se establece en 1949 para acoger a más de 3.000 palestinos/as que huían de la violencia sionista. Actualmente, con el conflicto sirio, cerca de 30.000 personas conviven hacinadas en un kilómetro cuadrado sin ningún tipo de acceso a gran parte de las necesidades más básicas. Con cortes de luz de forma reiterada y sin agua corriente de forma continua.

Financiación

La financiación de Basket Beats Borders es a través de particulares, dejando fuera instituciones, partidos y gobiernos.

Para este intercambio contamos con los siguientes gastos:

Compra de 16 billetes Libano-Madrid: 6.400€

Alojamiento: 2.600€

Manutención y desplazamientos: 2.500€

Nuestra estimación es de un mínimo de 13.000€ para poder realizar el intercambio.

Why we need your help – Madrid exchange

The Palestine Youth Club players will visit Madrid from the 16th to the 27th of June 2022 and will carry out different activities with various collectives in the city.

We believe in grassroots sport initiatives, in teamwork from the bottom up, without borders. That is why we ask for your help, to make it possible for this project to go one step further and for this group of women to be able to visit Madrid.

With this campaign we would like to cover some of the expenses that we are going to have during this exchange.

What is Basket Beats Borders?

Basket Beats Borders is a project that was born in the Shatila Palestinian Refugee Camp in Beirut (Lebanon) 5 years ago. A group of young women that live in the camp manage and develop all kinds of activities.

It encompasses various activities, the most important ones being the Palestine Youth Club women's basketball team, the Shatila Youth Center and the exchanges.

Shatila Palestinian Refugee Camp

The Shatila Palestinian Refugee Camp was established in 1949 to house more than 3,000 Palestinians fleeing Zionist violence. Currently, with the Syrian conflict, around 30,000 people live in a crowded square kilometer without any access to a large part of the most basic needs. Power cuts are repeated and there is no continuous running water.

Funding

The funding of Basket Beats Borders is through individuals, leaving out institutions, political parties and governments.

Following expenses are contemplated for this exchange:

Purchase of 16 return flight tickets Beirut - Madrid: €6,400

Accommodation: €2,600

Maintenance and travel: €2,500

Finally, we estimate a minimum of €13,000 to carry out the exchange.
