The Baskin-Johnson Family's ALS Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lindsay Core, and I'm fundraising for Margie, Shannon, and Sequoia.
Their family has been a vibrant part of the Guelph community for over twenty years. Maybe you know them from John McCrae, or from Gryphon Field Hockey, or from the Rainbow Chorus, or RCCF, or the Unitarian Congregation, or from a number of other community connections. Or maybe you just know them as good people who are trying their best to thrive in the face of a terrible illness.
In the fall, Margie was diagnosed with ALS, a terminal disease, with no treatment or cure. It will take away Margie’s ability to walk, talk, swallow, and eventually breathe.
The community has rallied around their family and Margie, Shannon, and Sequoia are so grateful for all the support they’ve received so far. Including the many meals that have been delivered, flowers, help with errands and appointments, and help around the house and yard.
In addition to the practical and emotional support they've received, they have expressed that they would also benefit from financial support as they navigate the additional accommodations needed for Margie as the ALS progresses, and to help secure Sequoia’s future.
In addition to this GoFundMe fundraiser, they are planning an ALS fundraiser and walk on March 23 to raise money to support people with ALS and future research in hopes of finding a cure for this disease. If you'd like to support the ALS fundraiser, you can visit: ALS Canada Fundraiser
If you are in a position to support either the ALS fundraiser and/or this fundraiser for their family, please consider donating and passing it along to other people who know and love this family.
On behalf of Margie, Shannon, and Sequoia,
Thank you.
Lindsay Core
