The Basulto Family

Donation protected

Tragedy struck the Basulto family on January 16, 2021 when husband and father to three, Ismael Basulto passed away unexpectedly due to complications from COVID-19.  Ismael was only 48 years old and otherwise healthy.  When his family took him to the hospital only 3 days before, they had no idea that it would be the last time they held his hand or gave him a hug.  Ismael’s passing came only one day before his 18-year wedding anniversary with his love and best friend, Claudia.

Ismael was a Special Education Teacher with the Antelope Valley School District.  He had a passion for teaching and learning.  He never gave up on anyone and lovedhelping the kids who had the most challenges. Ismael was a curious sole who loved to explore the world around him and talk to people as to truly understand them.  The outdoors is where Ismael felt most at peace and he loved to share his enthusiasm to travel with his kids.  Nearly every weekend, he spent turning his once barren back yard into an oasis or taking his family on adventures to Yosemite, Cancun, Sedona, the beach, the mountains, or even just a KOA in a town he wanted to explore.  Before his passing, Ismael had planned to take his family to Yellowstone, a place he had never been as well as Zion, and Bryce Canyon.

The Basulto family would like to memorialize Ismael by spreading his ashes in the places he cherished, and the places he dreamt of taking them.  Our family is humbly asking for your contributions to allow them to visit these places and allow them to see the world through his eyes one last time.

Ismael is survived by his wife Claudia, who is also a teacher, his daughter Sophia (17), his sons, Daniel (15) and Christian (13), and a big extended family on both sides who loved him dearly.

Thank you for your love and support.
