Batman’s critical care

On Wednesday 15th November 2023 Batman seemed like he was in pain so I called our regular vet and took him in. He was given pain relief for arthritis and temvet. The next morning Batman would not get up for his food (he is food obsessed so this is unusual) and his breathing was extremely rapid. I rushed him to SASH on Thursday 16th November 2023. Batman became critical on Saturday 18th November 2023. I was woken with a call saying Batman has been found passed out in his cage and vomited blood with a lot of blood clots and that he is in the intensive care unit critical and to come in. We went in to see him and they told us that they didn’t know if he was going to survive. He was septic from a kidney infection, kidney stones, fluid around kidneys and in abdomen, bladder infection, hardened intestines, ulcer (they don’t know if this is the cause of the bleed and they are still unable to tell) he has a heart problem but that’s been put on the back burner until the infection is under control. He’s had a blood transfusion but is the rarest type AB type. He was stable for 2 days at 21 but now blood has dropped to 17 again. He was given A type blood that they tested to make sure he wouldn’t have a reaction to. He is now home Wednesday 22nd November - they think he will heal quicker at home ❤️ his bloods have remained stable. His total bill came to $16,959.31 Batman has pet insurance but it doesn’t cover the whole amount. If I have ever helped you please consider donating to my little boy ❤️
