Battambang Provincial Hospital

Hello, we are seven students from the Class of 2023 Physician Assistant program at Touro University Nevada. We are completing a clinical rotation in March at Battambang Provincial Hospital in Cambodia. There, we will expand our training and provide medical services to the community of Battambang.

As part of this opportunity, we would like to raise funds for the hospital to purchase medical equipment and supplies as well as support any of their needs. Some of the money fundraised will also be donated to HeroRATs via APOPO. This organization trains rats (yes, rats!) to detect landmines left over in Southern Asia, including Cambodia. The rats are smart enough to sniff out the landmine but lightweight enough not to set it off. Once they have detected the landmines, trained individuals can carefully clear the landmines. Some rats are also trained to detect tuberculosis-positive cases and have helped see about 40% more cases of missed TB. 100% of the funds will be split between Battambang Provincial Hospital and APOPO.
