Hello,
My name is Nelson, a professional truck driver and I am raising funds to cover the costs of the legal representation to protect the investment made in my truck.

Talking a little about myself, I have been in the transportation industry for the last 10 years and as part of my career goals, I wanted to take the next step so I could go to the next level and get my own truck. I went from being a company driver with my former employer to being an owner operator with the same one. The agreement establishes that I would work under his authority and make the relevant payments for the truck. During the winter months there were several winter storms in which many truckers had serious accidents, for this reason I decided not to drive and be in a safe place and drive after the conditions were safe to do so. However, despite making the right decision and deciding not to drive, the owner (president) of the company did not like this so he began harassing me through text messages and trying to pressure me to drive under unsafe conditions. Having refused to drive, he retaliated against me with EDITED rate confirmations and bad loads, which led me to be in the negative for more than 2 months, so covering the expenses of the truck, operations and my ability to live has been almost impossible.

To give some context, I live full time in my truck, which means that losing the truck means losing my investment, my home, and ending up on the streets. This situation has escalated so much in such a short time that my mental and physical health has deteriorated. If it weren't for the support group I have, I don't know what would happen to me. It hurts me to recognize the poor treatment and the little value that we truck drivers receive, those of us who move the country and the world, receive.

During the week of February 11-17, the President of the company harassed me through text messages where he demanded that I return the truck or pay the $62,000 that I owe him. He basically gave me only one option to give up my only income and lose the investment of more than $60 thousand dollars that I have made with my savings.

My last resort was to come to this and ask for help, especially from people who don't know me directly. However, we must recognize that road transportation is the essence of this country. I have all the evidence, proof and testimony to win the case, however I need help to be able to afford the costs of a lawyer.

Mi nombre es Nelson, conductor profesional y estoy recaudando fondos para poder costear los gastos de la representación legal para proteger la inversión realizada en mi camión.

Hablando un poco de mí, he estado en la industria del transporte durante los últimos 10 años y como parte de mis metas profesionales, quise dar el paso para poder pasar al siguiente nivel y conseguir mi propio camión. Pase de ser “company driver” con mi antiguo empleador, a ser dueño operador con el mismo. En el acuerdo se establece que trabajaría bajo su autoridad y haría los pagos pertinentes del camión. Durante los meses de invierno hubo varias tormentas invernales en donde muchos camioneros tuvieron accidentes graves, por tal razón decidí no manejar y estar en un lugar seguro en lo que podía continuar con mi camino. Sin embargo, a pesar de tomar la decisión correcta y decidir no manejar, al dueño de la empresa esto no le gusto por lo que comenzó a hostigar por mensajes de texto y a tratar de ejercer presión para que yo manejara bajo condiciones que no son seguras. Al haberme negado a manejar, el tomó represalias contra mi con confirmaciones de tarifas EDITADAS y malas cargas por lo que eso me llevó a estar en negativo por más de 2 meses por lo que el cubrir los gastos del camión, operaciones y yo poder vivir ha sido casi imposible.

Para dar un poco de contexto, yo vivo a tiempo completo en mi camión, lo que significa que perder el camión es perder mi inversión, mi hogar y terminar en la calle.Esta situación ha escalado tanto en tan poco tiempo que mi salud mental y física se ha visto deteriorada y si no fuese por el grupo de apoyo que tengo, no se que seria de mi. Me duele reconocer el mal trato y el poco valor que recibimos nosotros los camioneros, los que movemos el país y el mundo.

Durante la semana del 11-17 de febrero el Presidente de la compañía me hostigo mediante mensajes de texto en donde me exige devolver el camión o pagar los $62 mil que debo de el. Básicamente me dio una sola opción de entregar mi único ingreso y perder la inversión de más de $60 mil dólares que he hecho con mis ahorros.

Mi último recurso era acudir a esto y pedir ayuda, especialmente a personas que no me conocen directamente. Sin embargo, debemos reconocer que el transporte por la carretera es la esencia de este país. Cuento con todas las evidencias, pruebas y testimonios para ganar el caso, sin embargo necesito ayuda para poder costear los gastos de un abogado.
