Battling Multipe Sclorosis

Hello all,

It is Maria and Rubi, sisters of Rodrigo Landaverde. On the morning of March 27th 2022 our brother (rodrigo) was switching his shift with his partner; he is a truck driver. Rodrigo had been sleeping from 3am-10am. At around 10:15 am his partner heard a ruckus in the back and all of a sudden a big thud. Rodrigo had fallen off of the top bed. Mind you, our brother is about 5'10 and 240lbs. His partner turned around and he was actively convulsing. Rodrigo was not breathing and he was not responsive. His partner called 911 and had help from EMS within 5 minutes. Rodrigo was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was in intensive care unit (ICU), for three entire days. After being in ICU for three days, Rodrigo was no longer unconscious. He was stable enough to be transferred to Winchester Medical Center, NeuroScience department. Where a plethora of tests were done to determine his diagnosis. Doctor Tingler, went the extra mile to figure out the cause of our brother's seizure. He ordered an MRI of the brain, EEG, and immediately started him on intravenous antiepileptics. Results were slowly coming through little by little things came back abnormal. Abnormal EEG, Abnormal MRI, labs look normal. Let's do a lumbar puncture, to confirm the diagnosis. There are more than five oligoclonal bands chilling in our brothers cerebral spinal fluid…this confirmed the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and not only is it just MS, it is a rear type of MS called Tumefactive MS; where the lesions in the brain are tumor-like growths. This diagnosis has our family broken into pieces. MS is not a disease that has a known cure, but treatments are coming together as the decades go by. We are looking for donations to help pay for the hospital bills. As our brother is not insured, we are looking for insurance that can help pay for treatments to put “the beast” (MS) at ease.
