Bayview House Fire- Relief

On the 20th of September, my mother and brother’s house caught fire in Cairns, Australia. A large portion of the house, mostly the kitchen was destroyed and a large portion of the house is filled with smoke and toxic ash. My mother is incredibly lucky to be alive after being trapped inside the house. We are also lucky that the house didn’t burn to the ground. We now have a big job of cleaning the house and moving belongings. But this is only the start of the road to recovery for our family. Our family has already been in trying times over the last few years with our Mum experiencing debilitating medical issues, among other things. The funds raised will be going towards the clean up effort and covering any key essentials.

It’s going to be a long road to recovery for everyone and it woudln’t be possible if we didn’t have the generosity, love and support from the Bayview Heights community in Cairns and from everyone who has donated to this fundraiser.
