Baz’s surgery from stopping intruder

Hi, I’m Anna and am a friend of the family and adore Baz. 

On Friday 19th June my friend left the house and locked Baz inside as earlier in the week the gate had been damaged. When she came home the house had been broken into and there was blood all around the outside of the house. Baz wasn’t there. He was found by someone in the area who took the photo above and took him to the vet. He had been hit in the face by what the police suspect is a crowbar used to get into the windows of the property. This caused Baz’s gum to be detached from his jaw and teeth to be damaged and broken.

The police have said Baz was protecting the house and managed to fight off the intruder when they’ve tried to enter through the window.

It was heartbreaking to see him this way as he is such a gentle boy and very placid. 

He has had initial surgery costing $2100 and the vet has said he will need more extensive surgery by a specialist given the nature of damage to teeth and jaw. 

Those who know Baz, know that his a great dog and so loyal. His done his job protecting his house and family, and now requires surgery to heal and feel better.

I know Baz and his little family will be grateful for any donation no matter how small to help with his recovery.

Baz is now finished having surgery & on his way to recovery.
Unfortunately Basil’s Vet bills were a lot more expensive than we originally thought.
Here is a breakdown of the costs:
1st Surgery $2648
2nd Surgery approximately $900
3rd Surgery $2378
Totalling almost $6000. The family have also had to buy special food for Basil as the medication caused him to have a stomach ulcer and diahorrea. His also only allowed soft food currently until his teeth fully heal.

Because of these extra expenses the young family now have an outstanding vet bill put on credit & would love to have it paid off. If you can please donate.
