Operation Heal Hendrix
Donation protected
On Wednesday June 24th at approximately 6pm I was walking my 11 month old puppy Hendrix in downtown Fort Lauderdale when he shook free from his harness and ran into rush hour traffic. A small SUV tried to avoid hitting him, but he clipped Hendrix, and sent him flying across the road onto the sidewalk. I'm so grateful to say that he was not killed, however, he severely injured his left shoulder. As of 6/25 at 10:30pm, Hendrix is still at an emergency pet hospital recovering.
The doctor has informed me that Hendrix has a fractured scapula (shoulder blade) and will need surgery, or else he might be limp for the rest of his life. As many of you know, payment plans are not offered by pet surgeons. The doctor also told me that waiting a few weeks to save up money is not an option.
He needs the surgery within the next few days or not at all.
Hendrix has been my friend, companion, and support, and it breaks my heart that he may not only run, but walk the same, ever again. I have been planning to train him to become a PTSD service animal to not only support me with my anxiety, but also bring him to work with me as a therapy dog.
I've set up this GoFundMe to ask friends, family, and social media world to help me cover the cost of surgery. The money will be used to directly pay for the surgery. I know this is a big ask during a pandemic (and other chaos) right now, but any help would be greatly appreciated... $1, $5, anything would help. Thank you all for your consideration, and if a donation is not possible, please consider sharing this link. Thank you so much.
