Basket Brigade Poland 2016
Donation protected
This Christmas again we aim to feed more and more families with Basket Brigade Poland. All 4 cities involved last year have raised the bar and want to double last year's results plus there will me more cities joining us. In total we plan to feed over 700 families.
In Lodz, where we raise funds in here, the goal is to feed 350 families.
On 30th October my brother in law Matt run his 2nd marathon in Dublin. He not only smashed it with personal best time of 3:24:05 but he also rised more funds for Basket Brigade Poland.
Thank you so much for all the donations.
We are still doing fitness events in UK and Poland to be able to raise all neccessary funds for 350 hampers. We need YOUR HELP, so please donate whatever you can, every penny counts and will make a difference.
The secret to living is giving.

Hi' it's Alex
I want to share with you that I'm taking on 2 big challenges:
1. On 24th April 2016 I'm running my first ever Marathon in London and
2. On 1st May 2016 together with my hubby Lukasz, sister Gosia, brother in law Mateusz and few other friends we are participating in Tough Mudder, which is a 10 mile, crazy and demanding race with 30 obstacles.
Check this out here: https://youtu.be/yo2kjMD1L2k
Training for a spring marathon took place in winter, for me it was English winter - through the rain, through the wind, in the cold, in the dark...it had to be done whether I felt like it or not...
To add up - resistance training in the gym - lifting weights, pushing tyres, pull ups, push ups, planks to name a few…to be able to conquer those crazy monkey bars and other obstacles.
In total - since January I've been training 6-7 days a week every single week and it wasn’t an easy workout...sounds challenging already, right?
Just wait...
I'm a mum, mum of a baby boy Kuba who just turned 6 months.
All that training has been done alongside breastfeeding, sleepless nights and looking after this little angel. Last month I started running with Kuba in a jogging stroller which gives me few more kg to push in front of me.
I must admit that it has been hard...many times, especially when I needed to stand up for the fifth time during the night and then run over 20k in the morning...I was saying to myself: "I'm not sure if I can do it, it's too much..."
Preparation to run 26.2 miles itself is demanding, training for tough mudder itself is hard, doing both is a killer and doing both with a small baby is crazy...
It's probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life...
So fingers crossed that I will be able to get through the finish line of the London Marathon on Sunday 24th April and complete Tough Mudder a week later.
Please come and support me on the way :)
You may ask: Why am I doing this?
For the last few years together with my family we've been doing initiative called Basket Brigade (www.basketbrigade.pl ) where we provide food hampers for families in need during Christmas. We started small, making first 10 hampers in 2011 and grew bigger and bigger year after year. In 2015 Basket Brigade Polska was present in 4 cities in Poland and in total we fed over 350 families. In my hometown Lodz we delivered over 2 tons of food in 200 hampers.

Each year we manage to inspire more family members, friends and friends of friends who want to be a part of Basket Brigade and help us in many ways to change people's lives for the better. Watching the transformation of those around us when they understand that the "SECRET TO LIVING IS GIVING", is unbelievable.
Mission of Basket Brigade Polska is to combine healthy lifestyle with helping others. To raise funds, over the year we organise and take part in various sport events from running, cycling, CrossFit challenges to football games to name just a few.
Last year with a help of AMAZING PEOPLE we raised over £5 000.
This year the bar is even higher as we want to double last year's result. So together with Lukasz, Gosia and Mateusz we will push ourselves much more outside our comfort zones physically and mentally and take on even more races, more challenges and will organise more events to raise necessary funds by December. Watch out this space, we will keep you posted what we are up to.
It starts NOW in April with my London Marathon and our Tough Mudder!!!
I want to ask you to support me and us in those challenges by donating whatever you can to Basket Brigade Polska 2016.
Every single penny counts and will make a difference as we have already proved.
The power is in the group, together we can do more and we will do more.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart <3
