BBS vs Tough Mudder in aid of Young Bristol

In support of Young Bristol, BBS Plumbing & Heating Supplies are organising a number of events to raise money for their charity partner this Summer. From branch events, competitions and individual pursuits culminating in five members of staff braving the 2024 10-mile Tough Mudder obstacle course.

We’re supporting Young Bristol because of the fantastic impact they have on the lives of young people in Bristol, Bath (alongside the Bath City FC Foundation) and the surrounding area. Supporting young people from the ages of 8-25 with their network of 8 youth clubs across Bristol, as well as their Youth Club on Wheels, and their outdoor activity team based at Bristol Harbour; Young Bristol are one of the largest independent providers of Youth Services regionally.

Five staff members will compete in the South West 10+ mile Tough Mudder on August 10 at Badminton Estate. The event includes more than 20 obstacles, including the "cage crawl," "Arctic enema," and "electroshock therapy." By this point we hope to have already hit our £3,000 target and be in a position to push on and raise even more vital funds for the charity and the young people they support.

Here’s a break down from the team of what our fundraising can do for them:

“£3,000 = Keeps one of our Youth Clubs open for a month.

£5,000 = Allows us to run our numerous ‘Interclub Sports and Arts Competitions’ over a year.

£7,000 = Allows us to run our ‘Youth Club on Wheels’ from a location with no youth provision for 6 months.

£8,500 = Provide 25 young people on our ‘Outdoor Employment Programme’ with a ‘First Aid Qualification’.

£10,000 = Allows us to build an Outdoor Canopy over our youth club, ‘The Grove @Bedminster Down’.”

Young Bristol was founded in 1928. We are a registered Youth Charity (301681) who are mission led and value driven. Our focus is to support young people aged 8-25 during critical out-of-school hours. We provide welcoming, safe spaces, with a range of accessible programmes and services throughout the Greater Bristol area. In the past year, we had 23,048 contacts with young people.
