The Asian Arts and Culture Society is excited to present the Annual BC Dumpling Festival in the Tri-Cities. This festival is a celebration of the diverse community we live in and brings together families, friends, neighbours, community organizations and businesses from different cultures to share food, entertainment and laughter.
This festival is one of a kind in our beautiful community. It is a multicultural, family-friendly event that will showcase dumplings from different cultures! The event will be held at Coquitlam Town Centre (right by Lafarge Lake) this August 12, 2023.
The day will be packed with live entertainment, activities for all ages, local food and beverage vendors and will feature a dumpling competition.
The idea for BC Dumpling Festival was sparked during COVID 19 when we saw a rise in anti-Asian hate sentiments in our community. BC Asian Arts and Culture Society founder: Gina Chong thought that one of the steps to combat racism is to demystify cultural differences by bringing together people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds together. What better way to do this than a food festival that features a favourite in many types of cuisines? Dumplings!
With a growing list of sponsors coming on board and an amazing team assembled to ensure it will be a celebratory day for all, funding this amazing event will still require a bit of assistance! We appreciate all the excitement that our Tri-Cities community has expressed and hope that you can help contribute to help cover costs for things like security, cleanup, and other operational costs that can add up for a festival.
The Asian Arts and Culture Society is a not-for-profit and the same goes for the BC Dumpling Festival. This includes no salaries and all work by the society is provided by our generous volunteers who believe in our cause.
