In honor of Carlos Rivas and his family, I’ve created this opportunity for loved ones near & far to be able to support the Rivas Family, as they navigate this difficult time.

Carlos was the sole income provider for their family. He was a loving husband and dedicated father of 6 kids, ages 3-17.

Always on-the-go, he coached football, basketball, and tee ball while still making time to volunteer in the community. He was a minister for his church and a mentor to those around him with a contagious, positive energy. Carlos motivated us to always be kind, thankful, and keep moving forward.

In September of 2022, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in his jaw. Carlos fought on and his unwavering faith & spirit did not go unnoticed. Not only did our community find inspiration in his strength, but he was also chosen for a PBS documentary called “Life On The Line.”

The director & crew followed the Rivas Family during their battle with cancer, capturing their devoted faith in the Lord and their dedication to each other.

The documentary was scheduled to premiere on March 9, 2024 and family & friends were excited to see Carlos on the big screen! Tickets were reserved & shirts were made to support the Rivas Family during Carlos’ debut at our local movie theater. Unfortunately, later tests showed the cancer had spread and in the early hours of the premiere date, Carlos was called home to be with the Lord. Everyone attended as scheduled and got to see him light up the room with his positivity and spirit once again. We watched the journey of the Rivas Family, saddened but inspired one last time by Carlos.
