BDO Ladies World Championship Prize Fund Booster

With 2019 being what people hoped was a breakthrough year for Ladies Darts due to the standard of play and the popularity and media exposure shown towards the ladies side of the game, especially in recent weeks with the success of the BDO's own Fallon Sherrock in the PDC World Championships who has elevated the ladies side of darts to a new level never seen before worldwide, This has sadly not happened in the way the Lady players in the BDO would have hoped.
The 16 ladies that are participating at the 2020 World Championships were told of the increased prize money as stated to them by the BDO Chairman, and also as signed for in the initial contracts the ladies signed to participate in the 2020 World Championships.
Unfortunately on 30th December 2019, only 5 days before the start of the event, the ladies were delivered the shattering news that the prize fund has been cut by over 60% of the original agreed contracted amount. This was because the BDO Board and there commercial partners have failed to gain a title sponsor for the event as stated to the players.
This has a great effect on the Lady Dart players that have travelled from October 2018 to gain World Ranking points to enable them to participate and play in the 2020 World Championships at the O2 Indigo in London. This has cost the ladies thousands and thousands of pounds to travel and play and unfortunately now, they won’t be playing for the money they have put into the system.
Sadly now with the massive cut in prize fund, The ladies will now be playing for a lot less money and this in fact, costing some of the players money to play in the event due to Travel costs, Hotel costs and all other expenses associated with getting to and from the event in London. The ladies should be able to play and make a profit to enable them to travel and play in 2020 on the BDO/WDF tour, sadly only 1 player will walk away with any significant profit to plough back into their travel in 2020.
I know there are lots of fans, followers, supporters that are not able to travel to the O2 in London this year to support the event for various reasons. I am hoping that by creating this page, those that support the Ladies and are not able to attend could find a way to make a small donation to the Ladies that will make a difference to them all I am sure.
There are several thousands of fans and followers on Facebook Fan pages of the BDO darts, Darts Forums on the internet, Thousands of followers on players personal Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts, so please share this go Fund Me Page to assist the Ladies Prize Fund in the 2020 BDO World Professional Darts Championship.
Who knows, a potential sponsor may see this and step in last minute to assist with the Prize fund and the BDO
