Clayton’s road to recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Melissa Huey. I have been friends with Clayton and Yvette since high school. Clayton, Yvette and their daughter Collette were snowmobiling last weekend on 2-11-23 when a tragic accident occurred. Clayton hit a snowbank and went airborne on his snowmobile. He was ejected off the snowmobile and suffered severe back and leg trauma.
Clayton was in an induced coma for 5 days. He has endured two spinal surgeries that lasted more than 8 hours each. He has extensive trauma to his thoracic spine and lower lumbar spine. His spine is fused from T-8 to his sacrum. Essentially his cervical spine is the only thing intact. These areas of traumatic injuries to his spine could lead to paralysis. It could be up to a year before it is known the extent of his spinal injuries. Clayton is set to have a third surgery Monday to fix his femur. He has many other injuries not limited to: bleeding in his frontal lobe of the brain, broken femur, broken sternum, multiple fib fractures, punctured lung, severe spinal injuries, dislocated left shoulder, severe contusion to his lungs.
The Henninger family are very experienced riders. Riding is life for them. This tragic accident is life changing for their family. There are so many unknowns medically for the months ahead while Clayton heals. Clayton is a blue collar worker, he is a mechanic and the best at what he does. Clayton does Not have insurance and the medical bills will be extensive for his recovery. He will be off work for the foreseeable future. His wife Yvette will be by his side and not able to work either for the foreseeable future.
The Henninger family needs our love, prayers, and financial assistance to pay his medical bills, and help to make sure bills are paid while they focus on Clayton’s healing. Please find it in your hearts to help during the time of need. The Henninger’s are an amazing family who needs us. Let’s wrap their family in hope, love, prayers and financial assistance. Thank you so much. God Bless
