Be A Part Of Zoe's Recovery

Hi my name is Zoe Valkyrie Langlois, since I was born I’ve been through a pretty tough time. At around 2 months old I developed symptoms that then lead to my family having to be flown out to Miami where I had to have an exploratory surgery. The surgery confirmed my diagnosis of a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia. During the surgery the doctors noticed that my liver was already very damaged as I was 74 days old and this procedure is most effective when done under 60 days old. Also, after my Kasai Procedure I was really sick and spent 2 1/2 weeks under sedation and breathing support because I was also battling RSV, Rhinovirus and H Influenza which developed into pneumonia. Part of my lung collapsed and it was a real battle for my life. I had to learn how to drink again and sometimes I still find it hard to keep down my formula. It was a really hard time for me and my entire family but I’m a fighter!
Unfortunately during this time my parents were unable to work as we were miles from home, mummy didn’t have anymore paid maternity leave and so they have now exhausted all of their savings to bring me overseas for treatment.
Sadly I’ve had to be flown back to Miami as I’m currently experiencing a common complication of my procedure called cholangitis. My liver enzymes are very elevated and it’s been a struggle to bring back down my bilirubin. We tried to get treatment at home but we’re from a small island in the Caribbean where we don’t have the liver and gastrointestinal specialists that I need to monitor my care.
Now my family is trying to raise some funds to help my parents through this difficult time. The funds will go towards my medications, treatments, food, and bills. Any little thing will help to ease the stress. ❤️
