Be Allen's Support Cushion Against Cancer

Hello, My name is Stephanie Bloomquist. Just wanted to tell my Dad's story. Allen Simon is a husband to his forever love Arlene Simon, father of three wonderful individuals, grandfather of 10 beloved grandchildren. Son, brother to two Siblings, friend to many and the list could go on. Allen Simon has his own business as a drywaller. He is well known and respected in his and surrounding communities. Admired for his talents. Always willing to lend a helping hand when others are in need.  In April of this year (2019) Allen thought he was coming down with a soar thoat, He was takiing cold medicine to help with his symptoms. But it turned out a few days had passed and he realized he wasn't getting any better. So Allen decided to take a look in the mirror to find that his tonsil was swelled, covering half his throat. Arlene also took a look and immediately took him to the hospital. Here the on call doctor took a look and said she didnt like what she was seeing. She told Allen that she was going to refer him to Saskatoon and he was to be there early the next morning.  Once in Saskatoon Allen has a biopsy done and samples sent away for testing.  Told that it should only take a couple weeks for the results, actually ended up taking 5 weeks with the results coming back negative. At this point Allen's swelling was about the size of a grapefruit. The Doctor not being convinced ordered a second  biopsy and put a rush on getting the results back in a shocking 2 days.  The results were devastating. Allen received the  life changing news that he has Lymphoma Cancer.  Being his Tumor was a super fast growing cancer.  He could only have chemo for the threat of it spreading if they tried to remove it.      At this point Allen had no choice but to put his drywalling aside and focus on fighting for his life.His wife Arlene has been doing the best that she can, trying to be in Saskatoon to support her husband, while still going to work trying to keep their financial assets in order. Allen has been through three different chemo treatments which have not been successful. He just recently finished a fifteen day radiation treatment and his doctors want to get him started on a new chemo as soon as possible that isn't covered by our health care.  Leaving Allen and Arlene overwhelmed by how they can financially afford this $3000/month treatment for the next unforseen months.. It's become too much for this wonderful couple to cope with. That's why I'm starting this fundraiser asking for support to help lift this financial burden from their shoulders.  Thank you for taking the time to read my dad, Allen's story.
