My name is Lynne, my fellow comrade Linda and I are paramedics and three of our close work colleagues are dealing with the traumas of cancer.

We want to show them the love and support that is all around and raise money for Ayrshire Cancer Support, which, at some point may help make their lives easier.

Driven by the comment from one colleague, a friend who is a woman my age, ‘no going to lie, I think it will be sad seeing myself completely bald’ I have chosen to shave my head as a gesture of solidarity.

Linda, a friend and colleague of hers for over 20 years instantly and selflessly pledged her locks in a show of unity.

We don’t want her to feel alone for this part and who knows, it may even start a new trend……

With over 355,000 thousand people living in Ayrshire and a national statistic that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, the need for support has never been greater.
