The Bossman Kroog ~
So much heartbreak lives in the end stages of terminal cancer . So many of you have met him, he brings a genuine kindness and courtesy to every person we've ever met. His optimistic and never quit attitude has gotten him thru 8 years fighting cancer. But now at 44, he endures his final stages.
Despite being in treatments and surgeries nearly continually from 2020 thru 2023, he made sure to rebuild energy to keep doing all things he loves, art, Feelin' Good Band, skiing, Cheffin' in the kitchen, hiking, going to see live music, traveling, enjoying time with his dogs and loving me. He makes us all want to do better, live better, and really shows the world how to embody strength when there's fires all around you.
He is the embodiment of grace, chivalry, kindness, compassion, strength and just all around the gentlest of giants. To know him is to Love him.
There were times he even wore a chemo pump bag while performing with his band on stage. While on Chemo we won the Battle of Bands, one of his proudest moments this year.
Hospice quickly followed that win in April, but he kept his usual spirit of making the best of the worst, we played over 50 shows, during this time, and as time progressed he was even sick between sets, but still muscled on, until November when we had our final Feelin Good show. This time in our lives was a big change for him, but he made the best of it by painting and even recorded some originals at home, until even that proved too difficult.
He has always been resilient but his body and now mind are fading.
His mind has diminished significantly in the last few weeks and he is requiring a lot of time spent watching over him, because many days he is pacing around the house confused. His wishes are to remain here at home until his death. And i would go to the ends of the this Earth to honor his wishes.
His increasing confusion, has left me often, unable to work. He forgets where he is, what he's doing, is speaking to people whom aren't here and has significant difficulty focusing on what he's currently doing. Hospice does not offer home respit, so a private caretaker is needed.
The cost of a private in home caretakers is very, very costly, but also very necessary.
Any donation, you can give is immensely appreciated, I just want to be able to honor his wish to be home until he passes and continue to support our household by being able to regularly work
Sincerely Signed,
A woman loved so well by this man, that Wife isn't a grand enough word to describe the honor
