Be Part of Brittany's Fearless Fight

Brittany Pate, a 37-year-old mother, is currently fighting Leukemia for the second time. Known for her generosity and support for others, Brittany enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and above all, loving her son. Unfortunately, on August 6, 2022, Brittany received an unexpected diagnosis of AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) when she was 35 weeks pregnant. This news shattered her perfect pregnancy plans and forced her into a battle against cancer. Despite the challenges, Brittany successfully delivered her healthy baby boy, Britton "BT," and underwent intense chemotherapy treatment, achieving remission. However, her journey to recovery was far from over, as she faced three rounds of high-dose consolidation chemotherapy. Throughout this ten-month ordeal, Brittany accumulated significant medical bills due to hospital stays, blood and platelet infusions, bone marrow biopsies, and numerous doctor appointments. Unable to work during this time, the financial strain has been overwhelming for this hardworking and independent new mother.

Just as Brittany was starting to regain some normalcy in her life, a routine lab appointment on June 21, 2023, revealed atypical cells, leading to a new diagnosis of ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). This form of leukemia is a result of the previous chemotherapy treatment and requires a different course of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant in October. A bone marrow transplant involves infusing healthy blood-forming stem cells from a donor into the body to replace the inadequate bone marrow. Given the current financial burdens, this procedure adds to the already substantial expenses.
