Hi my name is Nathan, I'm an actor and writer from Greater Manchester and in August I will be putting on my debut play "Hormonal teenage virgin s*x play" at The Way theatre in Leigh.

The play follows two teenagers who explore the world of sex, consent and vulnerability. Themes which are especially relevant today seeing as a new law will mean young people under the age of 9 will not be getting Sex education classes. Meaning they'll learn about Henry VIII and plant cells but NOT they're sexual health. Crazy right?

This is a play for young people by young people.

Young people need people who look and sound like them in order to engage with them in topics like sex and consent. The only way to break the stigma around young people and sex is to create a safe space for young people to have them conversations.

The play will be on in Leigh, which is an area of low arts engagement and a levelling up area. Work NEEDS to be put on here, especially work which will speak to the young people in these communities. Creating safe spaces to have healthy conversations about sex and consent, as well as showing young creatives that there is still a career in the arts despite being from the North.

The play will be on from August 12th - August 17th, and whilst we are awaiting a response from our Arts Council funding bid, if we get rejected we are ALL still committed to putting the play on. We want to make sure all creatives on board get paid Equity rates for their hard work.

This is why we want YOU to support our play!

All proceeds from this crowdfunder will go towards partially covering the costs for our creative team, ensuring they get paid for their hard work and dedication which they all deserve!

This play is a labour of love and deals with topics that are SO relevant to today's young people! Myself and the creative team believe in this play and we want to ensure our ALL Northern based team get paid for hard work and creativity. Especially as theatre is under such threat at the minute, particualrly those that aren't London centric.
