Dear Friends,
My sweet sister Tracee and her family need your help! Tracee has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called multiple myeloma.
Her rare cancer has also led to a rare disease called AL amyloidosis that has caused heart failure. AL amyloidosis is so rare, it only appears in roughly a dozen people out of every million in the United States.
Improvement in survival has been seen over recent decades. The first goal in treating newly diagnosed patients is to improve organ function.
While her heart is as big as the moon, it’s currently not working well. Doctors believe she needs a critical surgery to help her heart pump more effectively. This will then allow her to return to chemotherapy quickly.
There is a quote that says, “It takes a BIG heart to shape little minds.” This is Tracee. For years she has had an in-home day care, Tracee’s Tots, and has watched many precious children, including my own. Due to her illness, she has been unable to work. They all love and miss her very much and want her to get well like the rest of us. Her husband was also laid off recently from his job adding to an already stressful situation.
Tracee is a giving person herself and is a faithful member of White River Christian Church. She is also a devoted member of Delta Theta Tau national philanthropic sorority, whose mission is dedicated to the advancement of philanthropy and charity.
The surgery they are recommending for Tracee is still in clinical trials and there is uncertainty on how much insurance will cover if any at all. She has already had several recent hospitalizations. While we can’t cure Tracee, we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that the family is facing. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for them, to assist with the mounting hospital bills.
I’ve read generosity is love in action. Thank you for your love as we fight for Tracee. We also covet your prayers. We know God is bigger than any diagnosis and believe nothing is impossible for Him.
