Beach Access - Ft.Myers after Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Dear friends, I am Patti Smith; you all know of the horrific travesty that happened on the coast of Southwest Florida due to hurricane Ian, especially Fort Myers Beach (FMB).
What some of you may not know is this is the beach town I grew up with as a child. My Grandad, Henry Jennings, purchased a cottage on the beach during the Great Depression in the late 1920s. My family sold the property in 2008, I had not been on the beach for 28 years, and something bigger than all of us pulled me back there. When I returned, the cottage was for sale, I brought it back to the family it belonged to in 2019, and that is where I have found some of the most kind and giving people I have ever met. Outside the backyard, I grew up in.
Just a quick fact, most folks don’t know FMB is actually an island, 6.7 miles of beautiful “sugar sand” filled with Wildlife and Sea Turtles.
I am raising money to rebuild the Beach Access, which is three houses from mine on Miramar Street. I want to create a welcoming, happy path to this beautiful beach. Posts, ship rope, organic landscape, book exchange, and beach toys. This path lead to serenity and joy.

My goal is $25,000.00
However, you can help will mean so much to neighbors, visitors, and anyone who likes a beautiful sunset!
Thank you for taking the time to care, and God Bless Fort Myers Beach!!!
