BLACK BEAR CUB RESCUE/REHAB
Donation protected
I am a member of Russell's Private Advocacy Group, a group that has been advocating for change to allow Alberta Wildlife Orphans to be RESCUED and REHABILITATED.
Our goal is to raise a $25,000
Funds raised will go to the Cochrane Ecological Institute (http://www.ceinst.org).
CEI is the only facility in Alberta currently able to rehabilitate Black bear cubs. CEI is a family and volunteer run Charitable organization founded in 1967 they receive NO government funding. Your donations which are tax deductible, will be the LIFE BLOOD for Orphaned Black bear cubs.
Funds raised will greatly assist in meeting the requirements outlined by Alberta Environment and Parks, at an onsite meeting with
Clio Smeeton. Before AEP will release any cubs to CEI’s care the following requirements and/or upgrades are needed IMMEDIATELY!
BLACK BEAR ACCOUNT – Surety that there is ALWAYS SPECIFIC money available to keep, care, and feed all the orphaned black bear cubs being sent to CEI for rehabilitation.
Window tinting - 10 - 4 x 6 foot windows – so bears can be seen through the tinted glass by the people looking after them but the bears can’t see humans.
Upgraded fencing – wood and exterior paint and also Marine Blue enamel paint for outdoor uprights.
Weldmesh – wildlife fencing
Interior white paint – for the indoor bear nursery
Upgraded water Features –Bentonite Clay, Plastic pond structures, pond lining, gravel and stones
Due to the tireless efforts of many, Black bear cubs can finally be rehabilitated in Alberta. As of April 18, 2018 the Black bear protocol was changed to allow Black bear cubs under 12 months to be rehabilitated not euthanized.
We are working directly with CEI.
Please provide your name and address by email or private messenger to get your tax receipt.
