Bear Hugs

Three weeks ago my dad was experiencing lots of uncomfortable symptoms. My mom convinced him to go to a doctor and they rushed to UPenn ER. After lots of tests he was diagnosed with advanced stage heart failure. The past three weeks have felt like an eternity as my mom stood by his side, holding his hand and reassuring him while the doctors came up with a plan. There have been so many ups and downs, devastating news, changes in treatment and hopeful optimism. I am extremely grateful to God and all the surgeons, doctors and nurses for taking care of him and completing a successful LVAD (left ventricular assist device) surgery to help his heart pump and become strong. But the road ahead is long and my mom will need to be my dad’s caregiver 24/7, taking care of him and making sure all is well. The medical bills are already astronomical ($10,000+) and continue to grow. My brother and I would be truly grateful for any help towards the bills. Any small amount would be greatly appreciated. ❤️
