BeatNest Equipment Fund

Right before the pandemic, I was working weekends at a local nightclub outside of Boston, running live sound for both DJs and bands. It was fun and fast-paced, but getting home at 3 AM each night was not ideal.
The club shut down due to Covid, and I moved back home to the Berkshires. At this point, I was looking for a new job so I took one at the local community center where I worked with kids in the after-school program. The director knew my background and asked If I wanted to start an electronic music program for kids. I was thrilled by the idea, and I started teaching a small group class for 3rd-5th graders where they learn to sequence beats, play synthesizers and create original music. The class was a huge success, so the idea for BeatNest was born!
I worked all summer to save and rent studio space as well as purchase basic computers and music gear to start teaching private classes. Right now, I teach one-on-ones and well as doubles, but I hope to expand soon into slightly larger groups.
I am currently trying to raise capital to purchase more equipment to give my students a better learning experience. I plan to buy an additional Ableton Push 2, 2 Novation Launchpads, extra DDJ 200s, Macs with better storage capacity, and upgraded versions of Ableton Live.
