Nicky Foust - Brain Aneurysm Survivor

On Friday, January 13, 2023, Nicky suffered a brain aneurysm while teaching an exercise class at LA Fitness in Trumbull, CT. Her husband, Maurice, who was there, recognized something was wrong and was immediately by her side. Thanks to the heroic actions of Maurice, the staff and patrons of LA Fitness, and the first responders, Nicky was rushed to Yale New Haven Hospital – Bridgeport Campus. She was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for eight days.

In spite of her dire circumstances, Nicky’s husband and family had the unyielding faith that she would recover. By God’s grace and mercy, the bleeding in Nicky’s brain stopped without the need for cranial surgery. The doctors and nursing staff were amazed. When she regained consciousness, Nicky immediately began singing gospel songs and praising the Lord.

Soon, the hospital staff and fellow patients quickly realized there was something different and unique about Nicky. They believed she had God’s hand protecting her and guiding her path. Both staff and patients asked her to pray for them.

To truly appreciate one’s character, you need to observe how they treat not only the people they’re familiar with - but also strangers. Since 1997, Nicky has been the proud owner of “B” Beautiful Hair Institute and Beauty Salon. She is a makeup and hair artist, as well as an employer and mentor to three inspired young ladies. At her beauty school, she has trained cosmetology students from the United States and internationally. Her anointed hands have helped thousands of patrons as she works tirelessly to help anyone who walks through her doors feel beautiful when they leave.

Nicky is a devoted member of Covenant Life Ministries in Stratford, CT. As an LA Fitness instructor, she teaches kickboxing, body works, Zumba, and the silver sneakers exercise class. She typically teaches before starting her workday at the salon.

There is an expression that holds true for my dear friend, Nicky.

“Some people come into your life for a season. Some people come into your life for a reason. And, some people come into your life for a lifetime.”

I have been blessed and highly favored to have known Beatrice Foust, affectionately known as Nicky, for the past 25 years. She is the most amazing, God-fearing, and faithful servant of the Lord, as well as a kind and compassionate soul. Nicky is a devoted wife and mother of 15 (biological and adopted) children, grandmother of 5, cherished sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, sister-in-law, friend, business owner, and teacher.

I actually don’t have the words to state enough positive accolades regarding Nicky’s character. I am truly blessed to call her my friend. Nicky is a beacon of light in a world that is sometimes filled with darkness. She is a selfless, dedicated and loving mother; a faithful, loving and devoted wife; and a kind-hearted, trusting, and unwavering sister. She is a teacher, an innovator, and an entrepreneur. She is simply amazing.

Nicky has always been there for everyone. She has been a source of strength for numerous people in their time of need. Now - more than ever - this is the time for us to be there for her.

Today, I’m asking for any donation to help pay for the family’s growing medical bills as she has a long road to recovery ahead of her. Funds will also help keep Nicky’s business in operation and retain her hard-working employees during her stay at the hospital.
