Beatriz Leyva Burial Fundraiser
Donation protected
In 2020 we lost our dad, in 2021, we lost our little sister now coming into 2022, we are having to say goodbye to our mother, Beatriz Leyva. We were just as prepared as the doctors kept telling us to be, but in the end I guess you never are entirely. We are making this last fundraiser (dear lord let it be our last) for anyone that would like to help us gather burial funds of our sweet mama.
Beatriz Leyva was born in Mexico City in 1963, she met her husband when she was a young teenager-their love was just as strong then as it was in 2020 when he passed. Together they raised 4 strong women, and watched their 4 grandkids grow.
Beatriz put her faith in the lord's hands, stepping foot into the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brought her such peace that she taught primairy for several years in her local ward. Listening to hymns became her solace once she lost her vision years later.
Beatriz loved to travel back to her hometown in Mexico, the Mexican flag would “wave” to her as she said, and off she would go to see the local clowns in Chapultepec or eat at her favorite local food booth. She had such an unique and happy personality that she’d express with her clothes, always wearing the brightest, most floral dresses she could find. You knew which house was hers if you just followed the bright painted door, or extra festively decorated house.
It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle with all her health problems, Beatriz never stopped fighting, she is the definition of a warrior. Even when the odds were stacked against her she woke up everyday and was determined to make it hers. She was strong, unbreakable, and the most prevalent person we had the honor of calling mom, grandma, aunt and friend. As we remember Beatriz, remember the saying “dios aprieta pero no ahorca”. She is a woman that we will all forever cherish and respect. Just because she is no longer physically present does not mean that she is not fighting, she is with each one of us and pushing us to overcome all that we doubt-just like she did.
On Sunday January 23rd Beatriz was greeted at heaven's gates by her loving husband Agustin Leyva and her youngest daughter Graciela Leyva. She leaves behind her daughters Gabriela, Georgina and Cristina, her grandkids Kaeden, Marcella, Emma and Matteo, and her loving sister Teresa Huerta.
"The return to our heavenly home requires us to pas through-not around-the gates of death. We were born to die, and we die to live."
I will update with burial details once confirmed.
