Help Beau Ryan battle a rare autoimmune disease

Hi my name is Meagan and I’m starting this fund raiser for one of my best friends and who many consider there big brother or protector and he always puts himself before everyone. Well now he needs some help after being diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease leaving him unable to work.

Many people know Beau through his time as a personal trainer and as a bouncer at your favourite clubs here in Calgary. He’s helped myself and hundred of others mentally and physically for over a decade now. How ever last year he was having a lot of stomach issues. Finally succumbing to the pain he checked him self into the hospital, where he was diagnosed with pancreatitis then sent on his way. A few weeks later he was having different stomach pains this time he was diagnosed with gull stones and bile issues, once again he was sent home. A couple weeks later he was hospitalized with more stomach pain, this time it was determined that his appendix burst and he needed to get it removed immediately. After a successful surgery he was sent home again. About a month later same thing more stomach issues he was hospitalized again. This time the doctors determined it was colon, he was diagnosed with ulcer colitis and chrones disease. But to the doctors this didn’t seem right as to why he was having different issues with his organs every couple weeks . Beau was able to see a GI specialist where they did a bunch of testing and now determined he actually had a rare auto immune disease known as “IGG4” a chronic immune-mediated condition that can impact almost any organ system. To put it in simple terms his brain is attacking his organs. There is no cure for this disease just life long therapy and medications to try and slow it down.

Visibly you can see the effects it was having on Beau’s body weight as he was a healthy 300lbs man, now he’s under 200lbs and nothing more then skin and bones. This disease cost him his career as he was taking a lot of time off of work as well as not being able to physically do the job anymore. In December of 2024 Beau starting having seizures and was collapsing at work and at his apartment. The physical strain the IGG4 was causing his brain to shut down as well. After being found unconscious in his Apartment building by one of his neighbour's they called an ambulance and he was taking to the hospital. After further testing the doctors realized his colon perforated ( blew up) inside of his stomach. He had to have emergency surgery to remove his colon and most of his rectum and get his small intestine moved around and now comes out of a stoma in his stomach. Well having surgery the doctors noticed how bad his pancreas and gull bladder was . So the decision was made to take those out at as well. So Beau now has no digestive organs. Everything goes through his small intestines. Upon waking up from his surgeries Beau had 6 grand mal seizures after the 5th one he coded out and needed to be resuscitated back to life. With multiple surgeries and having constant seizures he was kept in the hospital for additional 40 days. Now that he’s out he cannot return to work for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately the government isn’t being much of a help during these

tough times . So I’m starting this fundraiser because this guy is a big brother to me and has helped me in so many ways and has helped many more people. He does have another surgery in March to tie up any lose ends ,Any money made with be going to his prescriptions and medical supplies he now requires, future surgery’s as well as to help him as he’s not able to return to work.
