Beauregard's life saving surgery

Donation protected
I normally keep the more difficult parts of my life private, but I suddenly find myself faced with an impossible choice: find a way to pay for a life saving surgery for my best good boy, or say goodbye. So, here I am, asking for your help to bring my boy home.

Beauregard has always had a sensitive stomach, but on Friday December 4th, something just didn't feel right. He was unable to keep any food down and by 11pm he became so weak and disoriented that he collapsed in the middle of the street in front of our building. We rushed him to the closest emergency vet who sent us home after an X-Ray telling us it was just extreme gas.

When we finally got him home at 2:30am on Saturday December 5th, we realized that he had gone to the bathroom in the car and his entire hind quarters were covered in blood. Convinced the initial diagnosis was incorrect, we rushed to another emergency vet. After two ultrasounds, and 7 hours of waiting, our worst fears were confirmed.

Beauregard had an extremely rare intestinal disorder called Intussusception where a portion of the intestine begins to grow inside of itself. This is also known as "telescoping".

We were told that if surgery were not performed by days end, Beau would have to be humanely euthanized.

The estimated cost of this procedure is $13,000.00, of which, a $7,000.00 deposit was required before the surgeon would even be called. I was able to obtain a care credit to cover half of the total due and interest will start compounding in six months.  A private donor has graciously agreed to cover the rest but that money will have to be paid back too.

Words cannot describe the relief I felt when I was able to say yes to surgery, but paying this off before the 14.9% interest kicks in is not going to be an easy task.

I am humbly asking for help to pay for this procedure because there is just simply no way I can do this on my own.

I know it's a lot to ask, but genuinely, anything will help. Beauregard stole my heart the minute he walked into the first of many apartments we would share together. He is my best friend and companion in all things and I can say, without a doubt, he has made every single day better since his Gotcha Day on March 1, 2015.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
