Beautiful Cairns family needing support

Hi,

We are Dann and Kristine. Our sister/friends Ree Sanders and her 3 children are safe after the past few days of weather in Cairns.

They evacuated further south and are safe in a caravan park for the moment.

The bad, sad, tragic news is their home in Holloways beach is under water to the waist, there isn't expected to be a lot salvageable.

Ree and the girls have been creating their new life in Cairns for the past year and have had a difficult time with many challenges facing them including the passing of the girl's father earlier this year.

Ree will not like this post (sorry sissy), but we who know and love her understand many people care and love them all and wish to help.

We hope to raise funds to aid in getting the children out of QLD and replacement of household goods they have lost. Unfortunately, they were not insured and will be starting over. Every little bit counts so if you can spare it, please help out.

We are not taking donations of goods (fridges/beds etc) at the moment (It is unsure where they will be living in future) however please reach out to Kristine if you can donate any young person clothing for the girls. Ages 12, 9, 7

We are aiming to get the children back to Victoria asap and they currently only have the clothing they evacuated with.

It is unclear if the family will be remaining up north or heading back to Victoria, but the aim is to get the children out of Cairns allowing Ree to assess/decide once the house can be accessed.
