The Longest Ride: Father’s 4300KM Cycle to help ICU Families
Donation protected
No parent should have to say goodbye to their child in an ICU (Intensive Care Unit). But in April 2024, that became my family’s reality.
To honour my son and support ICU families in crisis, I’m cycling 4,300KM across Australia—one kilometre, one family, one ICU bag at a time.
With your support, every kilometre ridden brings us closer to delivering 4,300 care bags to ICU families in Australia. Will you help?

Why We Help Families in ICU (Intensive Care)?
I know firsthand the heartbreak of losing a loved one in ICU. In April 2024, my family suffered an unimaginable loss when my son, Jaaden, passed away after a tragic e-bike accident. During those painful ICU days, a friend brought a small but meaningful gift—a hamper filled with essentials. It was a moment of 'beautiful' in a time of 'crazy'. That simple act of kindness planted the seed for Beautiful Crazy, a charity now dedicated to providing care bags to families navigating the hardest days of their lives.

A Father’s Journey to Bring Care Through Tragedy
In April 2025, the 1-year anniversary of my son passing, I will embark on The Longest Ride—a 4,300km off-road cycling journey from Perth to Byron Bay. Over 31 days, I will face some of Australia’s most brutal landscapes—through scorching sand dunes, relentless headwinds, and over 20,000 meters of unforgiving elevation.
The Longest Ride is more than just a cycling challenge; it is a powerful metaphor for the grief journey. One kilometre cycled = One care bag delivered to a family in ICU.
Each care bag, costing $60, contains essentials to help relieve the stress of long ICU stays. With your help, our starting goal is to fund 4,300 care bags—for 4,300 families, one bag for every kilometre I ride.

Why This Matters
- 160,000 Australians are admitted to ICUs every year.
- 11,200 ICU admissions are injury-related—averaging 31 families every single day who face a sudden unexpected crisis.
- 1 in 2 Australians will require ICU care in their lifetime.
Behind each of these numbers is a family sitting beside a hospital bed, holding onto hope in the hardest moments of their lives. That’s why we’re here—to bring them comfort when they need it most.
