Beautiful Resistance: An Outcry for Justice

We are currently working to arrange a virtual benefit concert featuring the students of the SOM and the music of Black composers and lyricists from a variety of time periods and musical styles. This is to take place on June 19, 2020 at 7:30pm Central Time. All of the proceeds will go toward the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the COVID-19 African American Relief Fund. 

The initial $225 donation asked will cover a $15 cost for up to 15 musicians performing, and the rest will be donated to the foundations mentioned above.

I am extremely overjoyed at the responses so far. I have extended the goal of the donations, and am incredibly pleased that there will be enough money to compensate the artists, as well as a fair amount to begin to donate to the NAACP LDF and the COVID-19 African American Relief Fund. Anything over the initial amount will be donated!
